ET5 is an ultra-high strength steel and aluminum hybrid body, the rear floor is die-cast, the weight of the rear floor of the body is reduced by 30%, the trunk space is increased by 7L, the front tower is die-cast, the threshold beam, the anti-collision beam, the seat beam and other aluminum extruded profiles. The torsional rigidity of the vehicle is as high as 34000N·m/deg.
In terms of body structure, ET5 innovates a three-stage collision force transfer structure with Shotgun, front longitudinal beam and subframe in the front cabin impact energy absorption area to make energy transfer more reasonable. In addition, the front and rear anti-collision beams and energy absorption boxes are made of 6-series aluminum profiles, and the front longitudinal beams are made of high-strength variable thickness laser welded plates, which are rigid and flexible, and have excellent impact energy absorption effect, which maximizes the impact force outside the high-strength occupant cabin.
